Sasha’s childhood memories in Hanapēpē, collecting salt from Salt Pond Beach and getting hot dogs from JJ Ohana's with her grandpa, Ron, inspired her to write this heartwarming book. Through her experiences working as a part-time barista while finishing high school, Sasha has developed a passion for coffee and its cultural impact on Kauai. In "The Hanapepe Hero," she shares her love for the town and hopes to inspire readers to appreciate and protect the communities and places that they hold dear.

With over 7 years of experience in digital art, Sasha brings a unique and vibrant style to her illustrations. In addition to her work in children's books, Sasha has also created the NFT collection,"The Guardians of Ukraine," and donated the proceeds to humanitarian aid in her home country. Sasha shares a deep appreciation for the spirit of Hawaii and was engaged on the islands.

Sheila is an author and a founding member of the Satellite Sisters, an award-winning podcast. She first met Sasha as her 3rd-grade teacher, and their relationship has blossomed into a strong friendship and creative partnership. Sheila's experiences as an educator have influenced her work, and she brings a playful perspective to writing. She currently teaches at a private school in New York and is also a proud new grandmother.
